Danielle Hanifin and Denise James have collaborated to make
a work that addresses the issues of secrets.
We all have secrets; secrets that are meant to prevent
others from being hurt, secrets that hide our own embarrassment, secrets that
shouldn’t really be secrets but are something that we still hold on to just so
we can. They’re personal, secrets are. So why do we hide them? Are we ashamed
of sharing? What words and thoughts can be so sacred to ourselves that we feel
as though we can’t share or reveal them?
Telling someone a secret without really revealing anything
can be liberating. Share a secret of yours. It can be anything you want it to
be and you can share as many as you would like. These secrets will never be
revealed but will hopefully lift a heavy thought from your mind.
At the end of the month these secret will be burnt onsite
and the ashes discarded to complete the release of the burden secrets give us.
